Federated Farmers is proud to launch this petition calling on the Government to make urgent changes to KiwiSaver rules to help young farmers get their foot on the farming ladder.  If there’s one policy change that could truly turbocharge the careers of our next generation of farmers, it’s letting them use their KiwiSaver funds to buy their first herd, flock, farm or home.
These are hard-working Kiwis trying to get ahead. They’re not asking for a handout; they just want to be able to use their KiwiSaver to build equity and progress in the industry. Unfortunately, the current KiwiSaver rules just don’t make sense or work in a rural setting. Instead of helping young farmers get ahead, they’re holding them back. Federated Farmers says it’s time for change.
